Summary

An exploratory action adventure game that has you play has the legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran exploring the planet Zebes. Snappy, satisfying gameplay in a world of secrets and self-discovery. The game that put the "Metroid" in Metroidvania.

Acquisition

I scored my copy way back in 2014 off Goodwill's auction site. I was sitting at my then girlfriend's (now wife) house in their living room trying to win this bid off my iPhone. I snagged the game and most of the Instruction Manual. The manual is missing the cover and page one. I wish it was missing the back page and not the cover, but c’est la vie.

Memories

Like I said above, my first real memory is buying the game. I think this was my very first snag off Goodwill. These days, it is much harder to find a decent deal there.

A few months later, I'd dabble with the game, but on the Wii U. My Super Nintendo didn't work at the time. 🙃 Logan and I played Super Metroid for our "Play & Report" segment in the early days of Millennial Gaming Speak. In particular, it was Episode 5. I never beat the game at the time. 😬

It wouldn't be until 2020 that I'd actually sit down and beat the thing. I had just gotten my first OLED TV and used my Super NT to explore Zebes.
