I got some good writing done this past week. It's one of my favorite feelings and richly satisfying. I'd be delighted if you gave any of them a read.
As I mention at the end of On Blogging and Feedback, I am deep in thought on mirroring the blog in a newsletter form. Besides the top level of that idea, I am torn on the option of Substack and Buttondown. It comes down to cost and discoverability. Substack is free and has a discoverability engine. Buttondown has costs and no discoverability. On the other hand, Substack has little control on presentation, reader experience, etc. Buttondown does give me far more control. What does free cost me? Can I financially afford it and change later? All that and more is going on in my head. I'll be seeking some advice this week.
Speaking of writing, I have been building out a guide post on how I record my gameplay. Hoping to publish that soon.
I beat Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. By beat, I mean I did one run with Maria. I am tempted to play the PC Engine release again and see if I am better there. If I can "plat" it on PS4, I feel like its this remakes fault, but I could be an old man now.
I need to get back to Zelda. I hit what I think is the half way point and need to finish it up. I have a strong itch for shorter games.
