Summary
The first Sonic game to grace a Nintendo console. Styled after the cartoon and that early 2000s Sonic vibe, the game is a slick game with great sprites and levels.

I don't remember how or when; sometime in elementary school.
Memories
I played the snot out of this one. I remember my friend Philip showing me hidden/secret zones and realizing the levels had diverging paths vertically. I loved this game so much that I made buying the sequels a priority as a kid, which I cannot say for many other GBA games that I adored. Selling Sonic Advance 2 and Sonic Advance 3 remain game sale regrets to this day.
It's sort of wild to remember that this was the first Sonic game made for Nintendo hardware. This was born out of Sega's transition from hardware manufacturer to solely a developer and publisher. It paved the way for a Nintendo kid like me to play and appreciate Sonic though.
